Value Orientation Of American Culture Diplomacy Towards P.R.China-Based On The Study Of Jiao Liu Magazine

USA has tried to intrude and control culture of socialist countries including China and some developing countries by various ways after the end of Cold War to globalize American culture, values Orientation and politic system.This paper,by analysis of published by United States embassy in China,intends to find out values Orientation of American culture diplomacy and to understand how America promotes its culture in detail.Although Jiao Liu Magazine claims that "the opinion of the articles does not represent opinion or policy of American government",a textual analysis of Jiao Liu Magazine in this paper has proved that this magazine has politic preference and its articles is special and worth doing research.This paper is divided into three parts:introduction,body and conclusion and four chapters.Chapter one gives an introduction of culture diplomacy:its origin,ways and characteristics. Chapter two deals with the history of American culture diplomacy to China and its forms. Chapter three is key part of the paper.In this part,textual analysis of the Jiao Liu Magazine is conducted in order to know how America government promotes and exports its culture by magazines.Given the American policy,Chapter four provides some tactics and suggestions for Chinese government to cope with American culture diplomacy.
