This paper takes the horse-shoe flame glass furnace in Qingdao Guanghua Glass Plant as the research object. The automation control system based on Foundation Fieldbus technology is designed. The monitor and control software based on OPC (OLE for Process Control) technology is designed aiming at the characteristics of temperature parameter delay and reaction slow in the glass furnace. The feasibility is supplied to realize advanced process control in Foundation Fieldbus system.The main contents in the paper are as follows:The standard and the development of Foundation Fieldbus are introduced in this paper firstly. The control strategy of the advanced process control is chose reasonably on the basis of giving an insight into the craft character of the horse-shoe flame glass furnace. Foundation Fieldbus and the predictive control are combined as the main research object in this paper. It could provide theoretical supports for the construction of the process control system platform based on Foundation Fieldbus technology.The design scheme of control system for the horse-shoe flame glass furnace based on Foundation Fieldbus technology is introduced in detail. A pressure control system is taken as an example to introduce the application of the Foundation Fieldbus technology. Model building and simulation for the temperature system of glass furnace are realized on the basis of analyzing the basic theories of Predictive Functional Control and the recursive least square method with the forgetting factor deeply. The superiority of advanced process control is analyzed in the end.The design scheme of OPC realtime monitor and control system developed using VB is given after studying the data access specification of OPC.Aiming at the combination problem between visual interface and mass-data processing, this paper proposes the mixed programming of VB and Matlab.Finally, on the basis of the conclusion of the paper, several problems worth to study in the future are pointed out.
