The EIS (Enterprise Information System) is the material basis of the information process of an enterprise. The quality of the EIS's building plays a vital role on increasing the economic benefit of the enterprise. Nowadays the architecture of EIS is trending to the direction of scalability, dynamic expansion, easy maintenance and management. Since the lightweight J2EE framework based EIS has a more flexible structure, more convenient to configure, much more efficiency, and can choose a variety of outstanding techniques to integrate, it has become to the mainstream of the development of EIS. So, the lightweight J2EE framework based EIS is the research hotspot currently.This article has the developing fashion and solution of the EIS as its main content. Firstly, a particular comparison between the traditional heavyweight developing fashion and popular lightweight one are made. Secondly, based on the analysis of the three layers (the business layer, the persistence layer and the presentation layer) of the J2EE architecture, a doable solution to build the EIS is brought forward. This solution uses the lightweight framework Spring as its core component, combining with the persistent framework hibernate and some presentation framework such as SiteMesh and AjaxAnywhere, using the job schedule framework quartz and the PDF document creating framework iText as assistance. The whole solution is rather powerful, and has dynamic expansion, flexible structure, is easy to configure and deploy as well. It is enough to satisfy the application of small or medium size enterprise. Thirdly, an EIS of an aquiculture company is implemented according to the solution designed before. The advantage and disadvantage of the solution is analyzed at last, and the points to improve the aquiculture EIS are indicated as well.The aquiculture EIS has been published on the Internet and used for a few days by a aquiculture company. This article provides a rational solution for the building of the EIS, and has great engineering value.
