| The era of 3G is arriving. Operators use multimedia applications as important services. What the full service applications bring us is not only the changes in network technology, but also higher requirements of the support platform, including the Operation Support System (BOSS) as a software platform, optical UTRAN transmission network in the access layer as a hardware platform, soft switch in the core layer, and special carrying network for IP.Firstly, many characteristics of 3G services are expatiated in this thesis. Because of the operation of the value-added services of 3G, operators change a lot in the value chain, business mode and the mode of operation management. It brings the BOSS higher requirements. The importance of support systems may be more obvious. As an important component of the core competitiveness of operators, the research of 3G service support is becoming hot. Because of ever-increasing complexity, the efficiency of the BOSS research will be required more by the operators. Thus the thesis analyzes the UTRAN transformation requirements of the BOSS in order to establish a standard, open, modular and plug and play BOSS, with actively reception of new 3G services. The NGOSS (Next Generation Operation Support System) recognized by the Telecommunications Management Forum (TMF) is the standard of dominant network. The thesis puts focus on the analysis of the idea of "component-based software development" which contains Set software reuse of NGOSS, calculation of the distributed object, project application development, and other technology.New 3G services enhance the telecom operators' business operations to an unprecedented level, especially the network bill, the IP-based business engine, the complication of bill content, etc. So there is a requirement for the introduction of the updated billing system, and a demand for the link between billing and alignment of service utility, in order to make BOSS business management capability stand out. Billing system becomes the 3G business support system, even the most important part of the entire 3G supporting platform. This thesis researches the new technologies adopted by billing system under such a new service requirement and the proposal for the system network organization, in order to form a complete set of billing solution for 3G multimedia services.A 3G multimedia service supporting platform also includes constructing a sound hardware support system, which is used by the optical UTRAN transmission system in the access layer and the soft switch packet network in the core layer. This thesis researches the realization of optical UTRAN transmission network, and the 3G service features of soft switch network. At last, the 3G core layer and its dedicated IP carrying network's realization of the Guizhou Mobile Communication Company are explained in detail. |
