| The quick development of information technology, especially thecommon application of Internet technology, makes management informationsystem the most important part in informationization nowadays.In Military departments in China, there are lots of work to deal with,complicated process to arrange, and important decision to be made byleaders out of troublous information. It's obvious that a intelligent,informationized management information system will increase the workefficiency.Before the system described in this thesis was developed, the areanetwork has been established in my office. But the communication iscompleted through paper or telephone. As the increase of workload, suchcommunication method has big limitation, which makes informationmanagement more and more important.Analyzing current hardware and software in working environment, andaccording to work needs, we have developed the new system, to ensure workefficiency. Since this system is based on MS SQL Server 2000 database,and operates based on Windows platform, out of compatibility, cost andconvenience consideration, this system will use Eclipse as developingtool.Functional Objectives:(1) People can make full use of existing area network to look up internalannouncements, notices, and arrange work accordingly(2) With the increase of staffs, it enables to add, delete or edit thedepartment, position, and staff information. But only administrator orauthorized people can take action as addition, deletion or edition oforganization information.(3) No paper is needed for communications. The new system can enablethe delivery, receiving and reply to the documents.(4) It can record and manage important information regarding workingplan, construction, and other confidential information.(5) Staffs can look up the superior status, activities and workarrangement through this system,(6) Staffs can view, receive and deliver announcement on internalnetwork. Also can reply to messages sent by others.(7) It can manage leave information management: application, approval,inquiry on approval status.(8) Staffs can conduct file transmission, and manage personal memo,personal diary, directory as well as other personal information.Besides all above functions, the system should also be simple,transparent, which facilities maitenance and upgrade.The system will realize data processing, data inquiry, data statistics and data analysis. It is composed of five sub-systems:personnel information management system, documentation management system,enterprise information system, internal email system and systemmanagement.The database of this system is the combination of data from severaloffices, departments or organizations. It shows both data self andconnections between data. In the database, data models are used toabstract, represent and process data and information from real world.According to purposes, data model can be divided into two levels:conceptual data model and relation data model. The conceptual data modelis used for communication between customer and database designer. And therelation data model is converted from conceptual data model, and builtfrom computer system point of view. The data base design produced byrelation model is called logic design.All tests against functions prove that this new system is basicfunctionally available.Office management system enables processing transactions by computer.It makes work and communication more convenient and efficient. Also itrealizes teamwork. Quick collection and processing of data providesscientific evidence to office management and decision making, which asa result improves the competitive ability of department. The nature ofoffice management system is to improve working quality and decision makingefficiency. The electronice system also optimizes current managementorganization, adjusts management system, increases teamwork ability,consistence as well as efficiency of decision making. |
