Radard terminal is one of the important parts of radar system, the operators can gain the circumstance of the guarded region and control the radar by the terminal, So it must display targets information with visual, accurate mode and be easy to operate. The early radar terminal displays the radar original video with simulation technique,so it can not be meet to the needs.With the rapid development of computer technology, image processing technology and software technology, it has become a new trend to take general purpose computers as radar terminals. Computers can process digital data flexibly, and image processing technology and computer software with strong function can make design of radar terminal more expediently. Meanwhile, designing radar terminal with software strengthen radar system's compatibility and extensible which provide a new way for radar terminal's development.The paper discusses the design and implementation of guarding radar terminal software which takes general purpose computers as radar termainal in Windows 2000 environment and uses VC++6.0 and MFC as development tools.Firstly,the paper presents the PCI bus criterion and discusses the PCI driver program design by WinDriver and Visual C++;Secondly,We introduce how to comple serial communication program with Windows API in Visual C++ conditions;Thirdly,the paper compares several application platform of GIS and determines to adopt MapX as development platform in this system;Finally,with the help of MFC's document-view mechanism and windows message mapping,it is easy to display the target and design a friendly interface.
