Research On Channel Switch In Mobile TV

With the development of wireless communication and improvement of Internet bandwidth, the communication way is promoted by multimedia, e.g., audio, video and image. Streaming media technology is the joint of network and multimedia, and its applications and researches are developed rapidly. Mobile TV which is based on streaming media technology will have more functionalities and support more services in the future.This paper mainly focuses on the researches of streaming media technology and its applications in Mobile TV. The purpose is to smooth the transition when channel switch occurs in Mobile TV. Waiting time is removed due to the seamless channel switch. This new kind of channel switch technology is simulated in computer network. The main works of this paper includes the following aspects:1. Research on the key technologies in streaming media transmission, including network communication protocols, QoS and media synchronization.2. Discuss the implementation of streaming media data transmission in detail, particularly in RTSP, RTP/RTCP protocols.3. Design the architecture of Mobile TV system with functionality of channel switch, and specify its main components and functionalities in each component.4. Design the proxy in Mobile TV system which can support channel switch and simulate it in computer network and specify some implementation details.
