The coming of the information times inspires the rapid development of the communication technologies, especially the different kinds of wireless sensor networks technologies. However, the development directions of all these technologies are saner now. Capacities such as long distance and high speed are not the only goals.Thus technologies with different kinds of characters turn out in our times.And people are more convenient to choose the most proper wireless communication technology following their own application.ZigBee aims at low consumption,low cost,low rate etc.This seems awful with traditionl strandard.However,nowadays with our continuously calling for automation and intelligence,it is these 'weak points' that make ZigBee one of the hottest wireless technologies.It can be used at all kinds of fields such as home intelligence, industry automation etc.This thesis is based on the project of environmental noise monitoring system.focusing on the routing technology of ZigBee. The working content of the paper can be divided into three parts.Firstly,an energy efficieny strategy of ZigBee routing , it is a ZigBee routing based on the AODVjr agreement.Its idea is that the route selection should avoid the nodes with lower energy.The other strategy is a conditional balanced energy consuming ZigBee routing.Its idea is that the path with the least hop counts should be selected when the residual energy of all nodes of ZigBee network are enough, and the protocol should avoid selecting the nodes with lower energy when the energy of the node in the network is indufficiency. The aim of these strategies is balancing energy consuming of the network.Secondly, an improved strategy of reduce the control overhead of ZigBee routing,based on the analysis of routing and two stategy of reduce the control overhead of ZigBee routing.The aim of these improved protocols is to reduce the control overhead without influencing other performance of ZigBee network. Last but not least, detail introduced the design and implementation of environmental nosie monitoring system. Collecting and transmissing environmental noise data, monitoring system tlirough the wireless technology of ZigBee.
