Designing And Implementation Of A Supervise And Control System For Frontier Guard Patrol Vehicles

National defence has made significantly progress with the developing of the national economy and technology in the 21st century, and patrol by foot has been substituted by car gradually at the border. A large number patrol vehicles had been allotted to the frontier guards which improves the patrol efficiency and quality greatly. However, there are a lot of problems on patrolling, such as how to give an alarm when a patrol vehicle encountered emergency, how to monitor and control the running situation of patrol vehicles, and how to effectively direct patrol vehicle. How to effectively direct and control the army patrol vehicle has become a primary difficulty. Application of GPS and GSM technology in military and civil field would open a new way for solving this problem.This study constructed the monitoring system for patrol vehicles. The paper reviewed the GPS application status in nation and international, and analysed the operation principle and function of the global positioning system. It also highlighted showed user interface and data formal of the GPS-OEM receiver typed Garmin25 and introduced the structure of GSM system. At the same time, this paper analysed the advantage of transmission of patrol vehicle information through GSM network, and choosed the needed GSM business. Then, according to the actual need of control and management on patrol vehicle, the paper described the conceptual design of the real-time monitoring system on by the GPS's positioning technology and the GSM communication technology detailedly, and studyed in-depth on system construction, GPS data analysis, design of unit on patrol vehicle and the display of localization information in electronic map. Finally, it solved the hardware and software design work of patrol vehicles supervisory system which was based on the GPS/GSM , and completes system's simulation demonstration.The objective of this study is to integrate GPS and GSM technology, accelerate the mobile business application in military field, and promote the progress on national defense undertaking.
