| Modern steel pipe production requires techniques with high speed and accuracy. Traditional tube production has rolling and grooving motor drive gearbox with complex mechanism, which restricts the production capability of cold rolling a groove in the pipe. At the same time, the traditional method also induces more maintenance cost due to machine wear. This article discusses the use of PLC (MLC) and AC synchronous servo system by Rexroth, to replace the traditional drive system which allows high-speed and accurate tube feed. Together with the grooving machine, five 3-phase permanent-magnet AC servo machines are controlled through MLC's electronic cam curves. This enables multi-axis driven, synchronous grooving feed, and traditional complex mechanism is thus replaced. The system also utilizes 6RA70 DC governor drive to regulate the main grooving machine via the servo system based-on double current closed-loop integral PI regulator and Simulink simulation. With associated control cabin and operation platform, and through the Profibus-DP and industrial Ethernet network's communication, as well as various monitoring devices, automatic loading is realized. |
