As one kind of important broadcast coverage engineering project, The MW transmitting station construction projects are invested by the government. With the full implementation of "Tibet-Xinjiang project" in China, The MW transmitting station construction projects have been vigorously putting in force. However, the present risk management models in MW transmitting station construction projects can't meet the client's demand because of the incomplete market, the complex construction circumstance, and special industry technical requirements. The clients are facing great difficulties and risks. In view of the situation, this paper use sophisticated risk management theory to comprehensive and systematic identification, quantitative analysis and scientific evaluation of risk. Then according to the results, risk coping strategies and risk monitoring model are put forward to establish a more complete risk management system for the clients.Firstly, this paper analyzes risk management in many domestic and foreign transmitting stations construction projects with present risk management theory. According to the statistical analysis on historical data of the domestic 25 MW transmitting station construction projects that have been completed and put into operation,risk factors which the clients of the building facing are divided into nine categories. They are feasibility study risk,project design,planning risk,tender risk,civil construction risk,dereliction of duty supervision engineers risk,technical facilities, construction risks,equipment installation risk,commissioning risk,emergency equipment risk,and project management risk. On the basis of this, AHP is applied to rank the importance of the risks, the results showed that the clients should focus on equipment installation risk , emergency equipment risk and project management risk control. In this paper, corresponding risk response measures and recommendations, the specific risk control methods and measures are putting forward. A new model is established for the clients'risk management. This paper is considered to play a great role in the process of the improvement of the client's risk management level.
