| This paper introduces the principle and techniques of the PPM-UWB communication system under the background of the communication of ultra wide band(UWB). It put forward the transmission theory of adaptive PPM modulation(AM). It's based on the channel estimation, using a feedback channel to send the channel state information (CSI)to transmitter. The CSI is used to determine the mode of modulation that is used in information transmission during different channel signal—to—noise ratio(CSNR) region. To adjustment dPPM adaptively according BER. AM promises to improve the spectral efficiency(SE) without decreasing the bit error rate(BER). Established a realization project of this principle also. the conclusion simulated with MATLAB software will be obtained. Based on which and the following work to be done:1,The communication of Ultra Wide Band and the background of the PPM-UWB communication. A simple description of the historical background and parameter index of UWB and PPM-UWB according the concerning books.2,Established a model of transmitting signal of PPM-UWB. Set up mathematical model of the PPM-UWB, design block diagram to generate signal of PPM-UWB according the mathematical model. Simulated with MATLAB to obtain concerning signal and graphic.3,Analyzed the model of channel, Set up mathematical model of the channel based on the theory, design procedure of transmition link, draw block diagram . Output the transmition performance on the channel.4,Quote concerning documents of the techniques of adaptive code modulation, design program of adaptive PPM modulation. Make the simulation to produce the data about improving the transmittion bit rate when adopte the way, make the conclusiong at last.Fading channel is one of the key techniques to be solved in the mobile communication. To adopted effective the techniques to overcome the fading channel is pivotal issue of succeed. At present, the techniques of adaptive code modulation is come to maturity, and the techniques are effective also. The system of CDMA overcome the fading channel by the power contral. It is to aim at the communication timely. The techniques of adaptive modulation are another way to overcome the fading channel..
