| Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a new type of embedded wireless networks, which appeared with the development of wireless communication, embedded computing and sensing technology. WSN can't self-adapt the requirements of changing environment for it is application specific. Based on the architecture of WSN, protocol stack reconfiguration technology is studied in order to resolve the self-adaptance problem. Firstly, the actuality of WSN is analyzed after introducing the origin of this paper and the significance of reconfiguration technology for communication protocol stack.Following this, an analysis of WSN's protocol stack on every layer is introduced. Then, the principle and model of cross-layer in developing wireless networks are introduced. Followed by analyzing the reconfiguration technology related concepts, an idea of cross-layer reconfiguration is presented. Based on the characteristics of WSN, design requirements are given, followed by a design proposal of reconfigurable stack. The proposal is detailed from two aspects, namely reconfiguration of application specific protocol and data aggregation based routing protocol. From the theoretical analysis and simulation example, the ability of self-adaptive changing condition is showed by reconfigurable protocol stack. Moreover, because the data aggregation mechanism added in routing protocol, the redundance data in WSN is reduced greatly. Finally, conclusion of the work is given, and the future work follows. |
