As the power system developed,the need of sharing and integration of information in the area of different corporation is more and more urgent. Varied of automatic systems come out and their data exchange exists in all hiberarchy. Commonly different application system is developed by different company,and the interfaces and the developing flats are varied. So,how to solve the problem of data exchange is the most important skill and the key point.IEC61970 is proposed by the IEC group,it helps the data sharing in EMS realized. CIM is the core part in EMS API. The purpose is to improve the data exchange of applications in system and to achieve the plug and play.This article researches on the problems in the use of EMS in the power system,and analyses the theory on the method of solving the problems. On the base of introduction of CIM,it researches the application CORBA in the CIM area. It designs and realizes a solution of the application of CIM based on the current system in use.In this article,it analyze the current situation of the power system, and introduces the latest solution based an IEC61970. It gives the history and development of this standard and introduces the CIM. The article gives a solution based on the CIM, and builds up a system based on the interfaces of CIS. It supplies the data and show the connection of lines in the station. The system can get model data through GDA, get real time data from HSDA, get history data from TSDA, and accomplishes the short term forecast from these data.This article gives important experience on the usage of IEC61970 and it is helpful to the modeling and application in data exchange.
