Design And Realization Of The Materials Management Information System

As an important component of the modern enterprise management, referring to the standardization, informatization and automation, Material Management Information System (MMIS) plays an irreplaceable role in raising the enterprise management efficiency and strengthening the enterprise competitiveness. Aiming at a specific project example, we demonstrated the design flow of a practical Material Management Information System in this paper. Here we analyzed the key point of the system development in detail. And then we made a conclusion on the key technologies and the design experiences needed by the system development.According to the design method of the modern Material Management Information System, firstly we made a detailed analysis on the need of the materials management system for the Tongliao Forging Press plant, and developed a scheme for the company's management information system. Subsequently, we designed the general framework of the system with the software engineering thinking. At last we achieved the system using the visualization software development tools Visual Basic6.0 and the database design tool Access 2003, with the main technologies including object-oriented programming methods and database design.With the help of the MMIS in practical application, we realized the informatization of the material management in the company, solved the contradictions among materials in the planned, actual warehousing, production planning, accounting and other aspects in traditional material management, and covered the various links in the operation of enterprises to ensure an effective management on the materials.
