Application Of Storage-Based Data Replication In Disaster Recovery System

With the fast developing of Informational Societ,business organizations ask higher requirements in their business continuity and data security.More and more enterprises plan to construct IT DR(Disaster Recovery) system to keep their data and business safe.Disaster Recovery is a protective project whose propose is to reduce losings because of natural disater,social ferment,human factor destruction or other reasons.This article analyses the pressure that CMCC(China Mobile Communication Company) is now facing in business and billing and points out the importance of building BOSS(Business Operation Support System) DR system and making it run steady and effective.The base and core technique of DR system is data replication. The storage-based data replication technique is one of the most mature techniques that are widely userd.It has attributes of fast data replication,better guarantee of data consistency and flexible application.And can be used by enterprise that has higher requirements in DR system.Refer to the business requirements and industrial characteristic,this article designs a DR system for X province mobile communication company,and programms ways and policies that the storage-based data replication technique been used in it.After that,the author discusses effects of the plan,studies deficiencies of this DR system,and points out plannings and ways to resolve the problem.The main idea is:Use the local data replication function to add a copy of datas on the recovery site to test the DR function without disturbing DR system running;Use the function of storage-based data replication to check the logic error of main site database;Make double data copis on the recovery site and use them with particular policy to avoid database logic error or human factors misoperate,etc; Compile Unix shell programs to automatic manage and control the process of data replication.By studying and detailing plans list above,this article finally constructs an integrated,effective BOSS DR project with storage-based data replication technique. Besides,verify the availability in the way of practising it in project. Thus achieves the purpose of practicing the theory into reality.
