Wireless sensor networks consist of low-cost, low-power sensor nodes that can communicate with each other to collect information and data processing cooperatively. WSN was used abroad to military surveillance, habitat monitoring, medical treatment, and so on. To achieve the communication security in sensor network, it's vital to establish secure channel between sensor nodes. Key management that the goal is to offer secure and reliable secret communication is the most importance and the most basal content of WSN security research. Efficiency key management is the base of the others security mechanism.Firstly, in this thesis, the wireless sensor networks and the security of the wireless sensor networks is summarizes, and key management problem, the evaluation standard, the class, and research actuality of key management scheme are researched systematized. The thesis especially introduces existing two kinds of key management models for WSN: those based on the key distribution center (KDC) and those based on random key pre-distribution.Secondly, this thesis researches to the Eschenauer-Gligor scheme and q-composite random key pre-distribution scheme based on random key pre-distribution scheme, analyzes the connection of each parameter of E-G scheme, and compares the performance of two schemes in terms of the security connectivity, resilience against of node capture and the max network size. Finally, due to feebler resilience against of node capture and lesser network connectivity probability of E-G scheme, based on the above analysis, a novel random key pre-distribution scheme was proposed based on hash key chain, and then theoretic analysis and simulation were made. The result indicates that the new scheme effectively improves network connectivity probability and resilience against of node capture, and reduces communication energy consume during the establishment phase of communication key, and node can be joined into network using this scheme, so it can be used to large network.
