Recently, with an increasing demand for mobile communications, many countries have paid great attention to the research on B3G/4G, and have acquired lots of achievements in the research.During the research on mobile communications technology, we need to test every layer and every module constantly to meet the need. The test of transport performance is an important means for verifying network system. Thereamong the test method based on traffic is a common method, which could test directly the performance of mobile communication system on real applications. But the test method of using original real traffic data simply has some limitations (lack of quantification, test chanciness, etc), so is unlikely and difficult to yield precise results that have good repeatability.This paper is based on the present research project supported financially by Science and Technology Breakthrough Plan of Shanghai Science and Technology Committee: Research on Key Technologies and Construction of Integrated Testing Environments for New Generation Network and Communication (No.07dz15006).Firstly, this paper introduces some relational theories and test methods briefly, such as, test suits designed for wireless broadband communication system, data characteristics of typical traffics.Secondly, the design scheme of the test platform is described in detail. The platform is to meet the needs of wireless transport performance test, which provides the running environment for the related hardware and software.Thirdly, this paper presents the design of the test software running on the aforementioned platform. The software has three components installed on Console host, Endpoint1 host and Endpoint2 host separately. It adopts hierarchical modular design (the modules include: Management Interface,Disp IF,Computation/Comp,Management Pane,Feedback Pane,Simulation Pane, etc), and adopts as well multithreads technique to resolve concurrency and uses JDK to implement GUI.Finally, some valuable ideas and suggestions are brought forward for the further work in order to overcome the limitation of the existing system.
