Design And Implement Of The Email System On Ship Based On Inmarsat-C And BGAN

As the development of satellite communication system technology,the application of Inmarsat is more and more wide.From maritime to terrestrial,it plays an important role in maritime navigation communication and emergency communication system.Inmarsat C has become an essential operation in ship communication as one of the most widely used operation.In 1974,under the GMDSS,all ocean-going passenger ships and cargo ships of 300 gross tonnage and upwards engaged on international voyages must be equipped with radio equipment that conforms to international standards as set out in the system such as Inmarsat C.And in 1993,the Beijing Land Earth Station began to operate Inmarsat C.Inmarsat C can provide reliable,qualified and lower cost telex and data communication for terrestrial and maritime mobile terminals.Nowadays Inmarsat C mobile earth stations were configured on almost every ship in our country.As the needs of maritime communication service and communication between ship and shore are increasing, Email system on ship is more and more important.Based on the analysis of the current situation and the development of Inmarsat C and Broadband Global Area Network(BGAN) operations,the following aspects are deeply analyzed and researched.Firstly,the paper studies the principle of Inmarsat C including TDM channel, signalling channel,message channel and interstational channel.After that the process of the link among each part of the system is analysed.And then the paper maks a brief introduce of the operations of the Inmarsat C and BGAN and some applications in the system.Secondly,according to the function which the system need to realize,the system is modeled visualization by UML.And the integrate frame of the system and flow of processing are designed.The way of communication includes Email,web,SMS and fax.You can also use a BGAN Terminal to transfer and receive mail by the system.Thirdly,the system is divided into communication module,fax module and SMS module.At last the test schedule is devised and the result is given.The result of the test illustrates that the Email System on ship Based on Inmarsat C and BGAN realizes the link between internet and Inmarsat C for the ship to shore and shore to ship subscribers.It supports Chinese mail processing between internet and Inmarsat C between ship and shore.
