With the rapid development of IC technology, it's possible to implement the whole complex electronic system on a chip. This system usually includes digital signal and analog signal. At this stage, the application of mixed IC covers the entire field of electronics, such as computer and its peripheral chip, audio, video and network. Thus, with the growing of demand for mixed IC market, the simulation and fault diagnosis for large and complex mixed-circuit will become a very important issue.The development and actuality of the mixed signal simulation and modeling is introduced. Hierarchical Modeling Technology of component model is studied. Base on the abstract level of the component model, this paper divides the components modeling methods into four levels: transistor level, structural level, behavioral level and hierarchical mixed-level. Then behavioral level modeling language for mixed component with the name VHDL-AMS is introduced. Based on this, the paper selects the typical component of the mixed component-AD converter to establish in structural level, the detailed design of the various modules of the AD device is given. And then the SPICE models of the AD device and its modules are also given. Effectiveness of the AD converter is validated.Subsequently, the technology of fault models and fault modeling for analog circuit and digital circuit are aggregated and analyzed. Based on this, this paper establishes the pin-fault model and function-fault model for the 8 bit AD converter. Both of two fault models references the methods of modeling for the analog circuit and digital circuit. And then the effectiveness of the fault models is validated.Finally, the implements and designs of fault modeling module and component library are given. Both of the new component library and the fault modeling module are completed with two ways: graphics editing and text editing.
