In the circuit system design field, with the higher performance requirement for the circuit system, the simulation cost during the circuit optimization design is becoming more expensive, then the circuit optimization design may instead rely on the metamodel, i.e, a statistical model surrogate of the circuit performance, to approximate the relationship between the system performances and the design parameters. The metamodel method can improve the efficiency of circuit optimization design, and is the solution to limitation of EDA tools for optimizing.In this paper, the DOE technology and metamodel method are applied to optimization design and yield analysis of a typical band-pass filter circuit. The major works are as follows:The characteristics of the initial band-pass filter are analyzed by ORCAD/Pspice software, and adjusted with the Parameter Sweep module. The purpose of this part is to provide a reasonable initial value of the optimization design of this circuit, and make the optimization design of this circuit easier to get the satisfactory result.Based on the adjusted circuit, the metamodels are established for the characteristics of the whole circuit and the high frequent part. Through optimizing the metamodel, get the result of a set of parameters of key components in the circuit, and with this result, the characteristics of the circuit are improved.Based on the optimization result of the characteristics of the whole circuit, the yields of the circuit on the characteristics and the consistency of phase are analyzed by the ORCAD/Pspice software. Using the metamodels which is established with DOE technology is to optimize the yield of the circuit on the consistency of phase and make the reasonable tolerance of the key components in the circuit.With the above three parts of work, the characteristics and yield of the band-pass filter circuit in this paper are improved obviously, and the idea that the DOE technology and metamodel method should be used in the circuit design is verified.
