Multiple-Input-and-Multiple-Output is regarded as efficient technology in high data rate communications, which is used to improve the frequency efficiency to offer larger system capacity. Space-Time-Coding, which combines channel coding with modulation together effectively in both space and time domain, is an important technology in an MIMO system.If the channel state information (CSI) is available at the receiver, the main two kinds of space-time coding have been proposed include space-time trellis coding (STTC) and space-time block coding (STBC).In a quasi-static slow fading channel, the design criterion for space-time codes guarantee the maximum possible diversity gain and coding gain at high SNRS. So first, we discussed different space-time coding methods in detail for the last few years, including STBC, STTC, Quasi-orthogonal space-time block codes (QOSTBC), Super-orthogonal space-time trellis codes (SOSTTC) and super-quasi-orthogonal space-time trellis codes (SQOSTTC). The encoding and decoding, performances of analysis and simulation results are discussed. Our overall goal is to find a code providing full-diversity, full-rate and high coding gain.To obtain full-diversity, keep a tradeoff between coding-rate, Quasi-Orthogonal Space-Time block codes and Super-Orthogonal codes are made in-depth research. The primary works are as follows.(1) Do an in-depth research for Rotated- Quasi-Orthogonal Space-Time codes. The codes are added rotated angle on basis of QOSTBC, obtained full diversity and full rate.(2)Quasi Non-Full-Rate Space-Time Trellis Codes are proposed in the thesis. The new coding is based on a set of quasi-orthogonal space time block codes, and combing the ideal of Non-Full-Rate, This code can provide full-diversity, a tradeoff between rate and coding gain as well as lower decoding complexity.(3) On basis of Quasi Non-Full-Codes, combing the ideal of super-orthogonal coding. A new Super-Quasi-Orthogonal Non-Full-Rate Space-Time Trellis Codes are proposed in the thesis The theory analysis and simulation results show that a few improvements over the QOSTBC and Super-Orthogonal codes.
