An IPTV Video Stream Quality Monitoring Instrument Based On MDI

IPTV is another name of interactive network television.Nowadays,IPTV is a hot technology which gets lots of attention.Many experimental networks and commerce test operation networks have been set up.IPTV is well developing.With the reasonable measurement,the malfunctions will be detected efficiently,and the cost of build monitoring system could be pulled down.As the variety of coding and network stream and the lack of standardization,the measuring of video quality always is a difficult point.The MDI(Media Delivery Index) is a practical monitoring method at the present time.The main contents of the thesis are following:(1) Introduced the basic concept and structure of the IPTV system;Researched the main factors of the impact on the quality of IPTV system and the types of indicators which assess the quality of IPTV system;Studied the basic theory of how the MDI metrics evaluating the quality of video stream.(2) The whole structure of IPTV quality monitor system was designed,including selecting standard of video stream judgment and the function design of modules etc. The software and hardware systems of this instrument were set.(3) Studied the specific computing method of MDI-DF,MDI-MLR,CC-ERROR etc;Solved the synchronized of the computing period of MDI-DF and other index;(4) An embed application develop environment has been build.The simulate test of the system was also done.The data of test was analyzed.The experiment proved the instrument could reflect the basic video stream damages through the metrics.The instrument meets the request of the manager of IPTV system;help the manager locating problem network node.The meaning of this thesis is to research an instrument for the administrator of IPTV system which collecting analyzing and statistics the key data of IPTV network transport,help the IPTV administrator to locate and solve the problem of network.
