Abstract/Summary:
As the developing of technology and the improving of the people's standard of living,the television system is changing from annlog TV system to digital TV system.In the near future,High Definition Television(HDTV) will surely take place of Standard Definition Television(SDTV).So we need a equipment to convert SDTV programs to HDTV programs.The format conversion board for SDTV to HDTV come into reality under this background mentioned above.Its main function is that it can change the format of the SDTV signals into HDTV signals through SDI(Serial Digital Interface) interface,then the signals will be stored in HDTV video recorder.SDI is interface that transports every bit of data through one channel.The receiving port should extract the clock signal in data streams,because SDI don't transport the clock signal separately.The SDI signal receiving chip produced by Gennum corps can do this work very well.In this thesis,we studied the method for convert SDTV signals to HDTV signals.And we used a Gennum's GF9351 as a core image processor to develop a video format conversion system.It focuses on the study of a 10-bit image processing system-on-chip,and then developed a real-time video processing system.It can convert PAL SDTV signals to HDTV signals.This thesis introduces the hardware design of the conversion board in detail.Include the main processing chip,the technology in High-speed digital circuit design which is necessary for the PCB.
