In recent years, computer graphics researchers have paid more and more attentions to the simulation of large-scale ocean wave scene. On one hand, the real-time rendering of ocean wave has become the most important tool of computer games, virtual-reality and movies making. On the other hand, the research of ocean wave simulation is significant not only for computer graphics but also for hydraulics, hydrodynamics, wave mechanics and oceanography research.The rendering method of large-scale deep ocean water based on Fast Fourier Transform of wave spectrum is studied in this paper in-depth. This paper apply Fast Fourier Transform method, which is based on a statistical model of wave spectrum, to the simulation of ocean wave. Through the method, we not only compute 3d data for surface grids of water, but also the data of normal vector and tangential vector , which can be used for rendering. The height-field data is tiled to the grid of visible region in order to simulate wave effect of the entire visible sea surface. This article also set up a model of extrusion wave, you can control the horizontal offset to achieve the effect of extrusion wave.In the aspect of simplifying the grids of ocean wave, through the research of several typical Mesh Simplification Algorithm, the point deletion algorithm is applied to simplify the generated surface grids. Through the algorithm, we save time of rendering of ocean wave, and further improve the real-time nature of the ocean waves.In the aspect of the rendering of ocean wave, this paper use texture mapping technique, namely through pasting real texture of ocean wave on the grids of sea surface to increase the realism of ocean wave, and add the lighting effects to improve the fidelity of ocean wave.Finally, based on the design principle of object-oriented, a demonstration system of the simulation of ocean wave is programmed and accomplished, which is based on the research of simulation algorithm of ocean wave and rendering technology above.
