The subject is one part of the"863"Project ---"Study on ocean environment data sharing and information service technology based on grid"( No. 2006AA09Z139 ) , aimed at building a marine geographic information system. Study of marine environment information data is the core of marine geographic information system, so development of marine environment information data is a very important tache of the promotion of marine geographic information system.With the rapid development of marine science, require marine environment information data that fully reflect marine resource environment and marine economic empoldering utilization more and more. In this situation, how to ensure information sharing and exchange has also become the current focus of the study. Marine environment information data are from different countries, involving a number of major fields and various acquiring means. Between the different marine disciplines and investigative projects, many different systems exist and marine environment information data is across many different systems and platforms. Various data format and structure result that the flow of information is rather difficult. Disunity of marine environment information data formats hinders development of geographic information system. At present, marine environment information data format has become the problem marine expert and users very concerned about.This paper introduces the acquiring means of marine environment information data and related knowledge of marine environment information metadata, put more emphasis on studying on standardization of marine environment information data formats and re-processing of marine environment information data.Data acquisition through three-dimensional monitoring and integrated investigation, utilizing advanced space, sea and underwater detective technology, synthetically applying remote sensing, on-site observation and other methods, put on multi-platform, three-dimensional observations and gain a great deal of valuable ocean data,providing a rich data source for data-processing module.As the marine environment information data format, firstly introduce sources,use,structures,advantages and disadvantages of 10 kinds of marine environment information data formats international commonly used; synthetically analyze the characteristics of the marine environment information data formats and classify marine environment information data formats in accordance with hierarchical idea for their characteristics.As re-processing of marine environment information data, emphasize on visualization study on thermocline. Firstly introduce some basic concepts and extracting methods of thermocline,halocline and pycnoline; taking traditional vertical gradient method as theoretical basis of thermocline extraction, OpenGL and VC++ as a platform, implement visualization of thermocline. Finally detail implementation process of thermocline extraction and analyze experimental result.
