Since computing capacity centralizes to the data center, it becomes more significant to eliminate data communication's performance bottlenecks and improve system management. I/O subsystem is the key leading to this kind of problem. How to carry out efficient data transfer and processing has become a research hotspot of cluster interconnection technique. InfiniBand is considered as a new kind of I/O interconnection technique which can eliminate the performance bottleneck of current I/O framework.InfiniBand subnet can realize high-speed interconnection and data transmission among nodes from some decades to several hundred. It not only has become the interconnection's standard in the field of high-performance computing, but also turns into the development trend of network storage. Subnetwork management is the foundation to realize InfiniBand-based interconnection which consists of functions, such as topology discovery, routing computing and forwarding table dissemination. It's the key to InfiniBand research. This paper analyzes and studies the key techniques in-depth in the subnet management and realizes InfiniBand's subset management based on OpenSM. The main work and contributions include as follows.(1) This paper analyzes the work flow of InfiniBand subnet management, studies subnet manager's state conversion mechanism. Based on the topology discovery mechanism of subnet management, detection processing to subnet topology discovery is introduced. We focus on irregular subnet's Up/Down routing algorithm and its improvement. According to the characteristics of InfiniBand switch's forwarding table, its dissemination mechanism is studied. We propose an InfiniBand switch identification techique which is based on GUID sign.(2) We put forward InfiniBand subnet manager's processing, built up its object model and realize its scanning function. We research into LID's allocation mechanism, analyze the construction processing of LID matrix model and build up switch's forwarding table according to LID matrix model. We introduce the implementation of subnet manager based on open source subnet management software OpenSM.(3) Based on Mellanox's MTS3600 InfiniBand switch and ConnectX IB HCA card, we set up Infiniband subnet environment and test OpenSM-based subnet manager. 36 subnet management instructions have been tested, which covers subnet management function such as topology discovery, routing computing and LID allocation. Lastly, experiment result is analyzed.
