With the development of computer simulation technology and automobile production technology, the use of assembly line simulation in automobile production corporation becomes more extensive. Being a modeling and experimental analysis method, computer simulation technology can dynamically combine information, such as production resources and production process data composed assembly line, make assembly line activities "reappearance", obtain visual and detailed descriptions of various components of the production system, instead of nonobjective descriptions by a simple mathematical method, fully reflect the production processes and the characteristics of production line, provide an ideal means for production line design and operation management.Based on the object-oriented discrete-event simulation software Flexsim, this paper establishes a car assembly line simulation model which contains 45 stations, realizes the simulation of car flow between the work stations and workers movement of picking up components from the buffer and to the work station for installation, and preliminary realizes 3D visual demonstrations of the car assembly line. And makes a second development for the model, builds up many 3D component models, which will greatly increase the modeling speed, and lay the foundation for the whole assembly line modeling in the future. Owing to the powerful data-collection function of Flexsim, component amount and time consumption on the station can be acquired, these data are significant for production decision-making of assembly line.Aiming at the production sequencing problem of mixed-model car assembly lines, which is a hot-research area and difficult issue, this paper builds up a car assembly line sequencing simulation system, realizes the simulation of different production sequencing. By changing the model parameters and control strategy, to minimize overloading time and idle time of the assembly line work station and balance the components consumption, the optimization of mixed-model production sequencing is achieved. At last, the feasibility of simulation method to solve the production scheduling is testing by an example, and a new thought and means to solve assembly line production scheduling problem is provided.
