Object-based storage system is a new network storage architecture, which combines the advantage of SAN's high performance and NAS's cross-platform data sharing. Object-based storage controller is one of the key components in Object-based storage system. Design Object-based storage controller under Xilinx Virtex-4 platform use SOPC technology have the advantage of design flexibility, short development cycle, rich interface, scalability and so on.Object-based File System is distributed file system with which Object-based storage controller manage the physical layer storage resources. Object-based storage controller manage Object-based storage device by using Object-based File System and controller software. Do research on Object-based file system of the Object-based storage device to improve overall performance and give full play to the advantages of Object-based storage is important.Analyze and compare the difference of space management, allocation strategy and attribute management among OBFS, LOBFS and XOBFS, and then make some improvement in XOBFS. Storage space could be divided into a number of fixed size regions which composed by fixed block, combined with two kinds of block length could effectively balance the contradiction between performance and space utilization. Combining with Meta Data Server to manage the Object Identification, lighten the burden of Meta Date Server, and accelerate the speed of big object looking up. The use of a simple journal raises the reliability of the file system. The simulation test shows that improved XOBFS have obvious progress on space utilization and object look up speed. |
