With the rapid development of communication technology, the needs of telecommunication business has become more and more complex and varied. The telecom operators have been continuing to strengthen their investment on telecom network construction and operations, in order to catch the development of telecom industry. At the same time, telecom operators try to promote their abilities of operating telecom network, and provide better services to the subscribers. In this background, telecom operators need to support the maintenance requirements of the front line persons and improve their working efficiency of network maintenance.With the development of telecom network management system, the existing functions can't adapt to the maintenance requirements well. We need to execute some maintenance tasks automatically, reduce the workload of network maintenance, and improve working efficiency.This project aims at realizing the auto inspection subsystem based on the Java technology and Ultra-NMS network management platform of Ultrapower. The users may utilize the auto inspection subsystem to define various maintenance operations needed in the daily network maintenance jobs, and combine the operations with managed devices and time to form the job schedule. The users can browse and check the results of executed operations, get clear about the concerned devices and the network, and find the problems and trend of network operation in time.The auto inspection subsystem has realized the integration with the resource management of Ultra-NMS. The distributed deployment of Scheduling core enhances the ability of processing numerous concurrent operations simultaneously. The adoption of Browser/Server structure lowers the difficulty of system using and spreading. The auto inspection subsystem supports telecom network and enterprise IP/IT network. The embedded scripts can be usable without any redevelopment after the system deployment.At first the thesis introduces the concepts and architecture of telecom network management system, and the information of domestic telecom operators' support systems; then introduces Java and Web-based network management technology; sequentially presents the requirement analysis and functions design, and realization. Lastly the thesis makes the conclusion and prospect.In the short term, the auto inspection subsystem can help the telecom operators find and solve the potential problems proactively before the impact to the network occurs. In the long term, the auto inspection improves the efficiency of network operation, reduces the maintenance cost and makes the operators get better return on the investment. So the auto inspection subsystem has great value and fine foreground.
