As the development of the society bank has a more and more closed relationship with people's life. Doing transaction in the bank takes a large part of time in our daily life. However a record shows that the queuing time in the bank will catch up to two hours. The long-time wait is now greatly influencing people's life quality. In order to solve the problem this thesis designs a banking online charging system with convenient operation and low price specification. Based on present powerful internet network this system can help people finish all the charging activities including water fee, electricity fee, gas and telephone fee, etc. just indoors which greatly make our life convenient with comprehensive application foreground.The thesis first introduce the hardware design precept including design of the interface circuit such as the Serial Port, JTAG, Ethernet, Audio-frequency, USB, LCD Touch Screen and relationship among modules. Then it detailed introduces the operation principle of the SCM-based magnetic card reader's software and hardware. And we also design a drive program based on Serial Port for it. Afterwards it says the operation principle of the touch screen and emphasizes the corrector algorithm. It last makes the software of the charging system based on the MiniGUI and gets the co-testing results.This charging system uses the 2440 processor (ARM9 Kernel) as core processor which main peripheral is network card, magnetic card reader and touch screen. The network card is used for the connection between the system and internet, which can afford three ways of internet connection as LAN, phone line and ADSL. The reader is used to read the user information. While the touch screen is used for man-machine interactive including the function of the password and charging amount input and the show of the charging history. As for the software part the substrate adopts the embedded Linux operation system with the MiniGUI integration development environment. It will show friendly man-machine interactive interface through touch screen.The final part makes a conclusion, picks up the disadvantage and prospect the future development.
