| With the development of small and medium-sized supermarkets, resource management, information storage and management are more and more important for them. The market competitions need effective treatment and management methods. And it's necessary to speed up the progress of informatization. A generic Supermarket Management System (SMS) based on B/S multi-layer architecture is designed and accomplished in my master's thesis. All kinds of business information are integrated into the system, and decision-makers can use them expediently, which enhances the core competitiveness of markets.Starting from the design of general framework, the theory and implementation of multi-layer architecture is discussed detailedly in this paper. Applicaility and expandbaility of SMS is presented, and the self-defining flows and KBS (knowledge base systems) are discussed. The arhievements of these key technologies are listed as follow:(1)Based on Borwser/Sevrer mode containing User Interface Layer, Business Logic Layer and Data Server Layer etc, the technique of XML is used in shielding the differences bewteen various hardware platfomrs and database systems, establishing the uniform database- accessing interface.(2)By the effective user-contorl and interface design, SMS integrates and implements several dominating functional modules.(3)The universality and expansibility of SMS is implemented, the management mode can be redefined by users and automated, semi-automated and manual modes are all candidates. Finally, the implementation examples of Supermarket Management System are given, previous researches are summarized, and future improvements are suggested. |
