With the rapid development of information technology and continuous deepening of enterprise modernization and reform, the requirements of equipment management become more and more important. Some enterprises, especially petrochemical enterprises have a growing demand for equipment management based on flow chart. As equipment flow chart is an important part of the equipment management in petrochemical enterprises, how to get intuitionistic, convenient and efficient equipment management based on flow chart is an urgent problem to solve.In order to meet the intuitionistic and convenience needs, Equipment Management System Based on Flow Chart (EMS-FC) has been designed and implemented with the analysis of existing equipment management system. Object-Oriented method, Rapid Prototype model, as well as the B/S(Browser/Server) and C/S(Client/Server) synthesis structure with three layer, were used to design and develop the system. The system implemented the flow chart module using GDI+. Some design patterns, such as Abstract Factory pattern, Command pattern and State pattern, were used and played an important role in the developing of the system. According to the actual requirement for the equipment management based on flow chart, the system can bring out intuitionistic, convenient and effective benefits in the equipment management. As has high universality, extensibility and maintainability, it can be put in application and bring high practical value.
