| In coal production and safety management, there are many areas that relates to the problem of the shortest path. With the computer extensively applied in coal industry, the shortest path algorithm has already showed its strong function. Safety Management Mode based on the safety subarea provides a basis for the establishment of the real safe coal mines. The coal mine can be safer through the study on the analysis of the Shortest path algorithm in the coal mine safety subarea.In this paper, it firstly summarized the present situation of the computer application in the field of coal mine safety, the actual state of district technology, as well as the application of the shortest path. Then, with the use of object-oriented programming techniques and the application of development environment of VC++, we achieved the corresponding shortest path algorithm. Through the shortest path algorithm, it researched the independence of every safety subarea in coal mine safety, briefly introduced the algorithm in the best retreat routes in coal mine disaster, the application in constructing a temporary station in coal mine disaster and in safety production.The study on the analysis of the shortest path algorithm in the coal mine safety subarea mainly analysised the generalized distance between every safety subarea, with this method,. The generalized distance contains shortest distance, shortest wind resistance distance and shortest ventilation pressure distance. According to the generalized distance, we can identify the independence of every safety subarea in coal mine safety, The farer the two safety subarea, the higher the degree of independence. We can take the appropriate measures to ensure every safety subarea relatively safe. We can find the shortest path from working face to exit through the shortest path algorithm, so that the miners can select the best evacuation routes to retreat in the event of an accident.
