The Design And Implement Of Parallel MPEG-4 Video Encoder Based On MDSP

Along with the digital TVs, Internet videos and DVD technology being accepted in the world widely, the video compress has become one of the most important parts for the broadcast and entertainment medium. After several decade years development, MPEG-4 has already been the most mature video encoding standard, and has been applied in digital TVs, moving pictures, real-time multi-media watch, multi-media system based on content storing and searching, video meeting based on facial model, and studio TVs, etc. The implement of video encoder based on the multi-core processors has been a hot spot to meet the real-time and high efficient encoding at present.The parallel MPEG-4 video encoder has been developed, and high speedup has been reached on the premise that the system structure of the multi-core chip-MDSP and some encoding algorithm in the MPEG-4 standard has been studied deeply. Main work and achievements of this thesis are listing below.1. Do deep research on the MPEG-4 video encoding standard,and do some import algorithm analysis on the encoding process, then implement the software video encoder according to MPEG-4 simple profile;2. Study the system structure of MDSP deeply, and do some statistics and analysis on the performance for different communications among the DSPs in MDSP, the parallel programming model and the data communication scheme has been designed;3. Analyse the data relativity during the video encoding process deeply, design and implement the parallel MPEG-4 video encoder according to the system structure of MDSP, bring a method forword for the result data being assembly done, and export the right result;4. According to the statistic information on the RTL experiment of MDSP, we have done the efficieny of parallel video encoder compare with the single core video encoder.
