| With the development of society and economy, the increasing demands in communication services have stimulated the development of communication network technology. The traditional wired network can not satisfy the consumer any more. Meanwhile Wireless network conquers the barrier of the cable, and is replacing the wired network in many places.As one of the most important device of the WLAN networks, the performance of the Access Point (AP) would affect the range and the throughput of the network greatly. Therefore, the research on this device is of great significance for WLAN system. The design and implementation of AP can make our research on networks and protocols deeper and more flexible.This dissertation describes the way of design points of embedded system,and the implementation scheme of AP. The functions and the processes of each software module are presented in general. And the selection of hardware and software is introduced. Then the scheme of AP is designed based on Intel PXA255 and embedded Linux. After that the function of each module and its process in the software system is emphatically explained. It includes the module of wireless network, wired network and bridge. At the end some relative test result and explanation is presented.This software system was designed on the basis of the embedded Linux operation system, and it kept to the developing process for embedded software. After the release of the first edition, the device was strictly tested and evaluated which manifested the good performance of the device. |
