| A digitized campus implies the comprehensive digitization of the teaching, the scientific research, the management, the life services and the others of a school. Using computer technology, network technology, communication technology, the digitizing procedure integrates all the information resources with the scientific management standards so that all the users could be supplied with the unified user management, resource management and authentication.SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) is the most efficient software architecture to resolve the complicity of the infrastructural application system of the enterprises and the inefficiency of the integration of the enterprise's resource. Enterprises can improve their business agility, decrease the cost of development and improve their efficiency by integrating the internal resources and sharing each other's resources through SOA system.At the progress of the construction of digitized campus, a great many application system take quite important roles in every functional department. Many jobs should be get done in collaboration by the application systems in different departments, such as the system to greet new students and the system for departure, both of them relate to one's status as a student, account, accommodation, financial affairs, etc., which are managed by several different departments of the university. If these systems are designed and developed by every individual department casually, they will possibly become "Information detached island" which are obstacles of cooperation."Information detached island" leads to the following problems: Firstly, lack of effective integration of information sharing, such as management resources, teaching resources, information resources of students, etc, which effects the efficiency and the accuracy of the entire campus network applications; Secondly, lack of a unified user interface, the application systems are lacking of a unified user interface, unified resources, unified application and management interfaces and they even have conflictions; Thirdly, it is difficult to integrate the application systems, because different modules of the applications are based on different platforms and the scalability and the flexibility of the systems is rather poor. As a result, campus on-line resources lacks of effective organization and management.This paper tried to solves the problems above by using SOA. At first, the conception of SOA and several related technologies including Web Services, Enterprise Service Bus and Business Process Management are introduced. Then the characteristics of the digital campus are analyzed. After that, a SOA model of campus which is comprised of "Unified Identity Service", "Platform of shared database", "Campus Portal" and other application systems. At last the role played by SOA and the goal of SOA are analyzed by the example of the project of digitized campus in Suzhou Art & Design Technology Institution. |
