Research And Implementation Of Fault Management For Integrated NMS In Telecom

The subject of this paper roots in corporate software project. With the continuous development of telecom information and business, more and more businesses on information system have been used, and IT system increasingly becomes main platform of daily work in Zhoushan Telecom as well as sits branches, which finishes all work through different network device, mainframe, storage device, network safety device and application system and so on. Thus the safe, reliable and sequential work in Zhoushan Telecom as well as its branches much more depends on efficient management and maintenance of IT system.To meet requirements due to enlargement of telecom network, network flow and complex application systems, meet the high availability, reliability and stability requirements from Zhoushan Telecom as well as its branches to information communication platform, boost IT system's abundant and safeguard development, an easily used IT integrated management system with perfect function, advance technology shall be set up to improve IT system and provide strong support for daily work of Zhoushan Telecom as well as its branches.This paper results from ZhouShan Telecom Integrated Network Management that I participated. Main functions of this system includes topology management, performance management, fault management and asset management etc. which can manage IT resource such as network, mainframe, database and interim equipment. During the research, I was responsible for fault management including fault collection, treatment, work sheet dispatch and statistic especially fault relate analysis and treatment. Firstly, this paper introduces the background, demand and setup principles of integrated ZhouShan Telecom network management. General description of integrated network management has been mentioned in Chapter Two. Chapter Three is on fault management analysis and design; Chapter Four is on sub-system of fault management and also describe event treatment strategy in detail. The last chapter has analyzed advantages, disadvantages and next steps of current design.
