With the development of network technology and application, web-based application has become the basic functions of the computer application programs. It inevitably involves the operation of the database in many computer application systems. A considerable number of them organize the whole system using database as the core. Students management system is just one such system.Student management system of colleges or universities is a must-have system. Student management systems typically include a number of modules. How to choice the technology to develop systems of different types of modules in order to make the system have a good performance and meet the different needs is the key-point need to be considered during the process of development. In this paper, we the JDBC database connectivity to the application of technology as an example. In the development of different function modules of student management system, selecting different JDBC technology. In addition, this article also put forward a theoretical formula to select the largest connection number of database connection pool, it can make the system has a good performance and features. Specific applications include: Pure JDBC technology, JDBC + JNDI technology, connection pool technology, Spring's JDBC framework as well as the "cloud" of JDBC technology.Practical application shows that the system has a better scope of application and be able to meet the teachers and students and parents of service requirements very well. Besides, using this system can reduce system operating and maintenance costs; In addition, this article proposed a theoretical formula that can be used to select the largest connection number of the database connection pool .It has a good reference in reality.
