| As the chemical industry becomes more and more complicated and the' production facilities are increasingly large-scale which gives rise to the potential hazards of chemical production. The issue of safety in production has been more and more concerned by government, industry and the society. In the field of system safety engineering, the safety systematic analysis is the basis of the subsequent safety related work which has been now an indispensable part of management of chemical safety production. HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) is by now one of the most widely applied methods in chemical industry among lots of safety analysis methods. Because the manual HAZOP consists of many of the drawbacks as time consuming, laborious and poor in completeness, the computer-aided HAZOP had become the hot research issue. In this paper we apply CBR (Case-Based Reasoning) to HAZOP which fits the human thinking habit to solve problems by analogy compared with other computer-aided HAZOP. We design and develop computer-aided HAZOP by adoption of the method of CBR which based on the classification of chemical accidental cases. Information of the most analogical cases ever happened in history can be searched in this system during the reasoning process of HAZOP which is helpful for experts to process HAZOP reason and consequence analysis by referring to the case descriptions and reasons of the analogical cases.Adopting the method of CBR to computer-aid HAZOP can stimulate expert brains storm and change the reasoning way only by human experiences. It provides reliable basis for safety analysis, improves the comprehensiveness, reliability and automation of HAZOP reasoning, enhance the stability of the reasoning results and is of high practice significances. |
