Research On Ultrasonic Data Acquisition System Based PCI Bus

The traditional Ultrasonic-testing Instrument exists lots of shortcomings by manual operation, for example, no direct-viewing, difficult to judgement, no records and so on, so it is unable to satisfy the the requests of efficiency and reliability of the ultrasonic-testing for modern industry. In order to improve the efficiency and reliability of the ultrasonic-testing, a type of ultrasonic-testing virtual instrument of high ratio of performance to cost is developed successfully by technologies of IPC and Ultrasonic-testing.The developmental tendency of ultrasonic-testing, high-speed Data Acquisition and feature of PCI are researched, and the whole scheme of PCI card is designed. In the hardware, this system has four function modules which include A/D conversion, data buffer, PCI interface and logical control modules. Much attention has been paid to the data transmission mode of PCI9052. The card internal control logic is designed by VHDL and diagram, and relative timing sequence simulation and logic verification is also finished. To improve rate of signal and noise, the methods of antijamming are given. In software, to decrease the difficulty of the design and shorten the design cycle time, programmer of the card's driver is developed by the WinDriver.The experimental results show that this system has good accuracy and stability. The instrument has a sampling rate of 40MHz, 8 bit precision and 32KB high-speed data buffer, which has meet the requirement of industrial ultrasonic-testing, and the digitalization of the ultrasonic-testing are realized. To realize the picturization, intelligentization, automatization of ultrasonic-testing, the defects analyses of quantity and quality, a well foundation is established.
