As the domestic economy growing rapidly and people's living standards continue to improve, the need for oil keeps rising. However, the domestic oil production is far less than the market need. The shortage of oil has been a critical threat to the development of national economy and the security strategy of national resource. Recent years, nearly 50% major discovers in oil were in deep sea which depth from 300m to 3000m. The specialists predict that either in china or anywhere else in the world, deep sea has been taken the main filed of oil production. Although there are massive oil resources in deep sea, the development could be a challenge. There are tides, hurricanes, earthquakes, sea ices, tsunamis which make the sea environment very severe. Meanwhile the marine structure base often encounters bad layer of soil, makes marine projects more vulnerable than those ones in land. The significant importance of the money-costing marine projects'security is unnecessary to be said. The methods of improve security level of marine projects are to rise the design standard and to use some measure of disaster prevention, and most important, choose a good spot. The information of marine projects field is acquired by geological investigation, which could be done by three methods: seismic exploration, in situ testing and geotechnical model test. The most efficient way is seismic exploration. This paper concentrate on the acquisition system and transmission system of"High Resolution Digital Cable-based Marine Seismic Acquisition System"which was design to used as the deep sea shallow layer seismic exploration instrument. base on the characteristic of deep sea shallow layer seismic exploration, we designed and implemented the hardware of the system, and complete some tests of the system. This paper is composed of 5 chapters, whose abstract are list below:Chapter 1 introduces the background of the thesis, the basic theory of marine seismic exploration and the structure of seismic exploration instruments.Chapter 2 introduces the structure and the targets of"High Resolution Digital Cable-based Marine Seismic Acquisition System". It also gives a brief description of the modules which compose the whole system.Chapter 3 particularly discusses the design of the cable system of"High Resolution Digital Cable-based Marine Seismic Acquisition System". It describes the hardware design of data acquisition system and data transmission system, and also gives details on the transmission protocol design. Chapter 4 introduces the tests of the cable system, including PCB tests, analog tests and system tests.Chapter 5 gives the author's work and innovation of the thesis and points out possible direction of future amendment.
