Segment size detection is an important step in the hull construction precision control. Used the Total Station to realize the acquisition of feature points coordinate in hull block construction site, compared it with the corresponding points of design model in three-dimension visualization environment, this is a hull block detection mode adopted by modern digital shipbuilding. Research and application in this detection technology will be able to effectively reduce the shipbuilding cycle, and improve quality and efficiency.Proposed the general design scheme of hull block detection system, choose 3D visual component HOOPS as development platform, designed the system running mode and function module. Analyzed the characteristics of HOOPS graphical data structure, designed three types of control point interaction creating patterns, applied segmentation approximation algorithm to implement picking up irregular curves in hull block model, adopted projection algorithm and segmentation approximation algorithm to get the intersection of curve and surface. In the step of deviation pretreatment, acquired the graphic transformation matrix through two points axis and three point axis conversion, estimated rigid motion parameters, and realized the connection of points. In order to minimize the positioning error, established optimization design model targeting on adaptive registration, and applied the solution. At last, designed and implemented the function of generating and output deviation report automatically by OLE component technology.Right now, the software prototype of hull block detection based on the design scheme above is accomplished, trial operation shows that system general design scheme is reasonable, technology route is appropriate, lays the foundation for virtual hull block assembling.
