| In recent years, with the rapid development and widespread use of computer, network communication technology and high-density storage technology, the new digital information environment is formed, and promotes the university library into a modern, informationization construction process. Libraries need to use a variety of automated integrated system to establish its own internal network environment to establish web-enabled, informationization, intelligent, and social-oriented features. So that, it is not only convenient to share the resources of books and facilitate the readers, but also greatly enhance the work efficiency. Library management system can make on-line booking, reminders, recommend books, solve the contradiction between supply and demand of popular literature and overdue penalty, so that the book circulation is more humane. The library information network can rational allocate resources of literature, on-line collaborative interviews, centralized cataloging and interlibrary loan. the work required for the management statistics are also very convenient. Compared with the traditional manual operation, using information technology can facilitate and improve library management.People have been using the traditional manual management of the library daily work. We must have been very familiar with the library borrowing and book process. Before the widely used of computer in the library, borrowing and return books rely on manual processes. One of the most typical manual handling books process is: Readers will give the books he want to borrow and library card to the staff, staff will put book description card and reader's library card on a small grid column years, fill the loan information on the library card and the tip in the book. This borrowing process is complete. Also the book, the reader is also a book that will be handed when the book is returned, the reader return the book to the staff; staff find the book information card and library card according to the book and fill return information. This return book process is also complete.Manual process described above is obvious un-convenient. First, efficiency of the processes is very low, followed by the processing capacity is also very low. For a period of time, the service for readers is limited. To deal with these processes with computer will undoubtedly greatly increase the efficiency and capacity of the work. We will see that waiting line library is no longer so long, the error rate of staff is also very small, and readers can spend more time in selecting books and reading books.For the convenience of library books, readers'information, process of borrowing and return books, .etc, Application program should be prepared to improve library management efficiency. After using the program, staff can check a certain reader, the instance of borrowing one book and statistic of borrowing a book. Statistical tables are given in order to fully grasp the flow of the books.Now we are in the information age. We manage and process large amounts of information in political, economic, military, cultural, scientific research, education and other fields. Database technology is advanced technology in information management and data processing. With the increasing amount of information, one of the computer's three main applications (scientific computing, process control and data processing), data processing, has quickly risen to the main aspects of computer applications. Database technology has become the powerful technology to deal with data in people's daily life. Databse is almost the core in all the information management systems.The main purpose of this paper is using databases and. NET to develop of management software to achieve management of books, reader and daily work. AT the same time, the whole system analysis, design process is given by a complete proof. Library management system is new database planning model based on centralized data management. The management of books and reader, in fact, is data management of books and readers. The completion of this system will no doubt provide a great help for managers to the library management system. The system is designed mainly concern from the following aspects: the system functional process analysis, system function design, the system's database structure design, system input / output design. The premise of this research needs sufficient knowledge of the database and deep understanding of management system knowledge of VS2005. This article introduces the approaches of the basic design of the database management system, elaborates the entire application system design ideas, analysises all parts of the design cycle, and finally reaches a complete design. In the final part of the article, with the debugging results for the database system ,we can insure that the system will more stable and reliable after into practical application. Chapter 1 introduces the research background, the status of library management and the development trend, describing the major work of the subject briefly. Chapter 2 introduces two different modes of MIS platforms: C / S mode and B / S model, with analyzing the B / S mode stress. Based on system structures, and the point of functions and performance requirements, it explains that the B / S mode and the development tools is determined. Chapter 3, as the first stage of system development, starting with the analysis of system requirements, determines the basic functions of B / S system, based on software engineering requirements, it has done some features of the data flow diagram, and conducted an analysis of the data model, established the conceptual model of data .All above that makes the foundation for the follow-up design. Chapter 4 determines the system function modules, the data structure of database, and implements the physical storage of data in the SQL Server. In order to satisfy the system functional requirements, a stored procedure is designed, and then process of online library system is provided. Combining the particular development environment, it introduces the core technology—ASP detailed.
