| Slotted waveguide antenna is a kind of aperture antennas placing the slots in one of the walls of a waveguide. Because of its high efficiency, compact structure, aperture distribution can be independently controlled, simple processing and easy to install, slotted waveguide antenna has been widely used in airborne fire control radar and missile seeker. This paper mainly focuses on the antenna radiation characteristics of slots in the broadwall of a rectangular waveguide. Firstly, Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method in waveguide slot antenna calculation is discussed. The total field-scattering field technique is improved to be used in the introduction of excited source in the waveguide antenna problems. We use the rectangular waveguide broadwall leaky-wave antenna as an example, to calculate the antenna far-zone radiation field using FDTD method. Then the radiation characteristics of slot antennas located on a cylindrical conductor are analyzed using Uniform geometry theory of diffraction (UTD). According to the different calculation methods, the equatorial plane of the cylindrical slot antenna is divided into the shadow area, bright area, the shadow side of the transition zone and the bright side of the transition zone. The equatorial plane patterns of the slot antennas located on a cylindrical conductor are calculated through the electric field calculation results of the four field area. Finally, based on the above calculation principle, simulation software is developed for the rectangular waveguide slot antenna pattern calculation. The mixed programming of Visual C++ and FORTRAN as well as the mixed programming of Visual C++ and MATLAB are used in the software development. |
