Abstract/Summary:
Course arranging is an onerous and complex work in every college. With the continuous development and improvement of credit system in our colleges, every college develops and buys course arranging software, in order to adapt to the development of the credit system. Thus, educational administration personnel are extricated from the complex work of course arranging. However, the data of course arranging cannot managed by one department, therefore there are many problems, such as heterogeneous data, sharing difficulty and lagging updating. On the conditions of not increasing educational cost, how to use the available course arranging software in order to improve the efficiency of course arranging and reasonably schedule the various recourses of course arranging, is one of the main subjects that every college is continuously exploring and studying. With the rapid development of network, the dispersed and heterogeneous computing resource combines organically, and thus forming a huge grid. Grid, which is a new technology developed on the foundation of Internet, can be regard as an integrated and huge supercomputer. Its purpose is to realize the sharing of variously related and widely distributing resources, such as computing resource, storage resource, data resource, information resource, knowledge resource, expert resource, equipment resource and even just talent resource sharing in the global range. However, the performance of the grid system dynamically changes because of resource competition and task uncertainty. Therefore, grid resource management and task scheduling are important research topics in the grid study. Based on grid, Agent technology is also introduced in this thesis. Agent is an intelligent entity which combines the quality of autonomy, sociality, initiative and adaptability. Multi-Agent method makes grid resource management more intelligent and convenient. Merging the agent technology into the grid study is an effective way to solve problems of grid resource management.Based on the problems of course arranging in the colleges and the careful study of the characteristics of grid's distributed computing and heterogeneous-sharing, the distributed course arranging model based on the grid technology was designed. This model adopts OGSA(Open Grid Services Architecture)grid architecture and the multi-agent grid resource management and scheduling scheme and establishes the grid platform based on grid middleware GLOBUS, which provides a unified upper-level management framework for courses resources and services. It effectively solves the problems of basic data isolation, updating difficulty and poor sharing in course arrangement of universities. Meanwhile, the data processing problems in multi-school course arranging are also solved. In the end, employing Gridsim grid simulation tools,a simulation experiment is conducted with this model and the comparison and analysis with the traditional course arranging model are also made. This thesis lays theoretical foundation for the practical application of grid in educational administration system in future.
