| Power control and system capacity is the two most important system characteristics in the third generation mobile communication WCDMA system. And, realization of power control technique will affect the system capacity directly. All these demand that mobile units in the system must have good performance of power control. Every unit must pass through the RF calibration and RF tests during to ensure its power control performance.Working on power control technique of the third generation mobile communication WCDMA system and RF calibration arithmetics of WCDMA mobile phone, this thesis will study primarily how to ensure precision and quality of the mobile calibration, compensate non-linearity offset of the PA to meet the requests of WCDMA power control, and to minimize the calibration time to reduce the manufacture cost.There are two means to calibrate the mobile TX (one is to measure every power levels to get the PA power graph, another is to measure some sample levels and linear interpolate the levels to get the PA power graph) ,but we found there are some limitation of these means, which cannot serve the two requests commendably.To settle this problem, based on study of interpolation arithmetics, this thesis bring forward using the cubic spline interpolation into the PA calibration of WCDMA mobiles, which use the cubic spline interpolation with some sample power levels to get the PA power curve graph.This thesis use the CMU200 test instrument of R&S company and PC Lab Windows CVI integration development tool to realize the calibration software. And, this thesis validate the calibration quality and efficiency based on the open power control and quick power control of WCDMA system. The result of validation is good. |
