This article focuses on the IP QoS measurement techniques. IP QoS measurement technology aims to measure the IP packet from the host and obtain the network performance and also the quality of service parameters through the measurement. IP QoS measurement technology is the basis of the monitoring, control, management, and billing of the quality of service in IP network. This paper includes four parts. In Chapter 1, we give the introduction of our work and also the organization of this thesis. In Chapter 2, we give the analysis of the importance of QoS in the network and the background of IP QoS. In Chapter 3, we first present a detailed analysis of the IP QoS measurement methods and measurement tools, in particular, we provide the analysis of the active measurement method. Then, we make the research and analysis of the active-protocol ICMP, OWDP and the latest IPMP. We make simulation about the IPMP in Chapter 4. The simulation results show that the time synchronization makes significant influence to the network performance and the network performance from the source to the end and from the end to the source are entirely differenct. In Chapter 5, we make research and analysis of the current QoS operations. MAN dominant DiffServ architecture is proposed to measure the dynamics of the technology-based QoS requests and admission control program. Besides the traditional edge node module control mechanism, this scheme also employs active measurement techniques in the QoS negotiations module at the end to achieve a dynamic self-adaptive QoS requests. And the simulation of the dynamics QoS module in the end system is carried out to to verify our expected conclusions. At last, the conclusions are provided in Chapter 6. |
