The Development And Research Of OPC XML Data Access Server Based On Web Technology

With the improvement of automation in factories, in the field of the Industry automatic monitor system, the different systems are wished to be integrated in order to improve productivity. The emergence of the OPC technology offers a good solution for the different systems to communicate with each other. As the traditional OPC server are based upon the COM/DCOM technology to realize, its technical defect has appeared prominently while exchange the data with each other between the internet. Thus it's important to lead out the technical advantage and the necessity of OPC XML-DA server based on the Web service technology. According to the OPC XML-DA specification, this paper has shown the design scheme which is to develop a gateway by using the gSOAP kit, which has successfully make the transition from the OPC DA's interface based on the COM technology to the Web Services functionality based on the XML&SOAP technology. The experiment executed on two computers deployed in different networks justifies the high efficiency and feasibility of the OPC XML-DA Server in the communication.
