Texture synthesis is an important research in the field of image processing and computer Graphics. Texture synthesis from Sample is a new texture synthesis technology which has de-veloped in recent years. In order to synthesize any size of texture images, this technology use small synthetic texture image as input picture. The goal of this technology is to synthesize high-quality image, to meet the need of real-time application and full automatic synthesis process. With the rapid development of computer 3D graphics and the increasing need of large size and high quality texture in recent years, sample-based texture synthesis became a hot research area.Base on the study of sample-based texture synthesis, Dissertation presented improvements of the existing algorithms, the main work include:1. Briefly introduce background and significance, current situation, problems and applications of the sample-based texture synthesis, then introduce the basic concepts of texture synthesis based on the MRF model, and study some of the classic point-based and patche-based algorithm synthesis, analyzes the thought of the algorithm and the advantages and disadvantages of the algorithm and the right type algorithm to be hand.2. On the study and summarize the existing algorithms, this article presents a improved texture synthesis algorithm based on principle of the relevance.The algorithm has been extended Ashikmin algorithm from pixel-based texture synthesis to the patch based on texture synthesis, and use new error metrics, to speed the matching process and the effect of texture synthesis more in line with the vision requirement.Simulation experiments has verified the algorithms.3 On the study of restoration applications base on texture synthesis from sample, the article proposed improved algorithm based on Criminisi A which can repair large damaged area and use more reasonable priority formula. It retains excellently texture for repairing of large damaged area. Simulation experiments have verified the algorithms.Our research can be used in computer animation, virtual reality, special effects in movie and game and so on.
